The DJI RS 4 Mini now incorporates automatic axis locks, a feature previously reserved for DJI's flagship gimbals. Upon powering on, all three axis locks disengage automatically, enabling rapid setup. When switching off or entering sleep mode, the locks re-engage, streamlining the transition between shooting, storing, and transport. The gimbal's storage mechanism has also been refined, with axis arms folding flatter to conserve space. The RS 4 Mini features the fastest horizontal-to-vertical shooting transition in the RS series. Furthermore, the upper quick-release plate now includes three positioning slots, offering flexibility in installation based on camera size and balance requirements. Despite its compact design, the RS 4 Mini supports a payload of up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs), making it capable of handling setups such as the Sony A7 series mirrorless camera with a 24-70 mm F2.8 GM II lens, as well as lightweight vlog cameras like the Sony ZV series. Even when paired with DJI Mic series microphones, fill lights, and additional accessories, the gimbal maintains smooth and steady camera movement. The newly introduced Phone Holder also allows for quick conversion into a smartphone stabiliser, adding to its versatility across different filming scenarios.
