The Canon XA70 Professional UHD 4K Camcorder is a compact and lightweight camera designed for professionals in the fields of documentary filmmaking, journalism, and ENG (Electronic News Gathering). Offering UHD 4K video capture, a large 1-inch CMOS sensor, and an array of advanced features, the XA70 is a powerful tool for high-quality video production. An upgrade from the XA55, this model introduces a larger 3.5" LCD capacitive touchscreen, a higher resolution tiltable OLED EVF, and UVC support for livestreaming via USB Type-C.

Outstanding 4K Video Quality
The XA70 is equipped with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor, delivering impressive UHD 4K30 and Full HD 1080p60 video. The camera uses oversampled HD to produce stunning Full HD footage from the 4K sensor, ensuring detailed and vibrant images.

15x Optical Zoom Lens and Advanced Autofocus
Featuring an integrated 15x HD optical zoom lens, the XA70 provides flexibility for a variety of shooting scenarios. The lens includes a nine-bladed circular iris for beautifully smooth highlights, while Dual-Pixel CMOS AF and Contrast autofocus offer fast, precise focusing. Face Detection AF and Face Tracking make it easy to maintain focus on your subject, while Manual Focus can be set via the focus/zoom ring for greater control.

Professional Monitoring and Controls
The camera is designed with professional-grade tools for monitoring and control, including zebra patterns, colour bars, and a test tone to ensure accurate exposure and colour settings. It also features a built-in neutral density filter mechanism for managing bright shooting environments. The 3.5" touchscreen LCD is ultra-bright and responsive, providing quick access to your settings, while user-assignable buttons allow you to customise the camera to suit your workflow.

Flexible Recording Options
With support for both XF-AVC and MP4 recording formats, the XA70 provides versatility for different production needs. Record in XF-AVC UHD 4K at 160 Mb/s 30p or Full HD at 45 Mb/s 60p/30p, or switch to MP4 for smaller file sizes, with 4K recording at 150 Mb/s and Full HD at 35 Mb/s or 17 Mb/s.

Dual SD Card Slots for Extended Recording
The XA70 includes dual SD card slots, enabling automatic card switching for longer recordings and simultaneous recording for instant backups. You can output 1920 x 1080p 10-bit 4:2:2 video at 59.94 fps via the mini-HDMI port, ensuring high-quality output for post-production workflows or live broadcasts.

UVC Livestreaming
Stream HD video directly from the XA70 to your computer via USB Type-C with UVC support, making it easy to livestream events or remote productions. Note that audio is not supported through the USB connection, but the camera provides other professional audio options.

Professional Audio Capabilities
For high-quality audio capture, the XA70 features two XLR inputs with phantom power, ideal for use with professional microphones. It supports up to four channels of LPCM audio with manual or automatic recording levels, alongside a 3.5mm stereo mini input and a built-in stereo microphone for quick and easy audio recording. A headphone jack and 2.5mm LANC input are also included for monitoring and external control.

Creative Slow and Fast Motion Recording
Capture slow motion in Full HD at up to 5x or speed up your footage with fast motion recording in 4K/Full HD at up to 1200x, perfect for dynamic and creative shooting styles. The custom picture menu also allows you to match colours with other Canon cameras, ensuring a consistent look across your production.
