Covering a versatile wide-angle focal length range, the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM is distinguished by its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture. This allows for effective shooting in available light conditions and provides greater control over depth of field. The wide focal lengths are suitable for various situations, from landscape to documentary shooting. Its advanced optical design significantly reduces colour fringing and distortion, ensuring high clarity and sharpness. An Air-Sphere coating is also applied to reduce flare and ghosting, improving contrast and colour fidelity in bright conditions.

The Nano USM focus system offers fast, nearly silent autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. An Image Stabiliser compensates for up to five stops of camera shake, producing sharper handheld shots in challenging lighting conditions. A unique Control Ring is integrated into the lens design for intuitive control over exposure settings directly from the lens. Additionally, the RF 15-35mm is weather-sealed and features a fluorine coating to protect the front and rear elements.

Designed for use with full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras, the constant f/2.8 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range, making it suitable for available light conditions. The lens incorporates two Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) elements to minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, providing greater clarity and colour accuracy. Three aspherical elements correct spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendering. The Air-Sphere Coating (ASC) reduces backlit flaring and ghosting, maintaining light transmission and high contrast in strong lighting conditions.

The Optical Image Stabiliser minimises the appearance of camera shake by five stops, enabling better performance in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds. The Nano USM system combines a ring-type USM and an STM mechanism for quick, accurate focusing that is smooth and nearly silent, suitable for both photography and video applications. This focusing system also supports full-time manual focus control in the one-shot AF mode. The configurable Control Ring allows adjustment of various exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.

A protective fluorine coating on the front and rear elements resists fingerprints and smudges, making cleaning easier. As a member of the esteemed L-series, this lens features a weather-resistant design that protects against dust and moisture, allowing use in challenging conditions. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
