Despite its impressively small size, the Canon EOS RP boasts a powerful full-frame sensor and delivers versatile imaging capabilities within a portable form factor. Featuring a high-resolution 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor and the advanced DIGIC 8 image processor, the EOS RP excels in both still photography and UHD 4K video recording. Its broad sensitivity range of ISO 100-40000 allows for exceptional performance in diverse lighting conditions, and it supports continuous shooting at up to 5 fps for capturing moving subjects. The sensor is complemented by an advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, offering 4779 selectable on-sensor phase-detection points for swift and precise focus during both still and video shooting.

Enhanced Viewing and Connectivity
The EOS RP is equipped with a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.0" 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD monitor, facilitating easy viewing from high and low angles. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth provide wireless remote camera control and direct image sharing to connected mobile devices.

Canon RF Lens Mount
The EOS RP features the RF lens mount, supporting Canon's line of RF-mount lenses. Characterized by its wide 54mm diameter and short 20mm flange-back distance, this mount allows for the design of lenses that are both faster and more compact than their SLR counterparts. The mount's 12-pin electronic contact system enhances autofocus and image stabilization capabilities. It also maintains full compatibility with existing EF and EF-S-mount lenses via an optional EF-EOS R Mount Adapter.

26.2MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 8 Image Processor
The 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor strikes an ideal balance between high-resolution output, low-light performance, and high-speed capabilities. Paired with the DIGIC 8 image processor, the EOS RP offers a wide native sensitivity range from ISO 100-40000, suitable for various lighting conditions. Additionally, it supports continuous shooting up to 5 fps for capturing dynamic subjects.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF
The Dual Pixel CMOS AF system delivers smooth and rapid focusing performance similar to that of a camcorder. Each pixel houses two photodiodes, creating a dense network of phase-detection elements across the majority of the image sensor. This reduces focus hunting and allows for faster, more precise control of focus placement. For stills, this system quickly and accurately acquires focus, making it ideal for tracking moving subjects. In video mode, Movie Servo AF offers smooth and natural focusing transitions, along with customizable tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face or Eye Tracking priority. The Touch AF system enables intuitive rack focus by simply touching elements on the touchscreen. This system excels in low-light conditions with accurate AF capabilities down to EV -5.

UHD 4K Video Recording
Designed for multimedia creators, the EOS RP supports UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution recording at up to 23.98 fps with a bitrate of 120 Mb/s, as well as Full HD 1080p and HD 720p at 60 fps for slow-motion playback. In-camera 4K recording offers 4:2:0 sampling and 8-bit colour depth, while 4:2:2 8-bit output is available when using an external recorder.
