Description |
The Eventer has long been one of Billingham's most admired bags. Here's what Billingham have to say about the New Eventer.
At a glance, the most visible feature that has been changed is the top handle. The webbing that had stretched across the width of the top flap has been removed, to make way for a simpler, sleeker looking handle. Leather has also been added to the underneath of the handle, for additional comfort when carrying the bag.
To improve its credentials as an outdoor, working bag, weatherproof zips have replaced the previous normal zips on the main compartment and rear pocket to help protect the contents from the elements. As previously, a clever ''TukTop'' design feature enables the zips of the main compartment to be tucked behind the walls of the padded insert, keeping them safely and neatly out the way while taking cameras in and out of the bag.
The removable insert now has extra padding on the base to further increase protection for your camera gear. Like before, it is made from dense, fabric covered ''closed cell'' foam and provides impact protection on the front, back, base and sides.
Inside the padded insert are two large vertical padded dividers and two smaller ''flap'' dividers that attach with Velcro®. You can use the vertical dividers to split the bag into 2 or 3 columns and the flap dividers to stack gear within those columns. The exact arrangement that is possible for you will depend on the size of your gear, however customers can expect to fit one or two mid-sized DSLR, mirrorless or rangefinder bodies plus 2-4 lenses.
The dedicated padded laptop slip in the back of the insert has been retained, allowing the user to store up to a 14" laptop. The insert can easily be detached and removed using press-studs, to change this bag from a working camera bag to a stylish messenger bag in seconds. With the insert removed there is enough space inside for efficient packers to use the Eventer MKII as an overnight bag.
