Situated on the very southwestern tip of the UK, Cornwall truly is an oasis for landscape photographers. The scenery is incredibly diverse, ranging from small picturesque fishing coves to large ruins dating back many hundreds of years from the tin and copper industry. And let’s not forget about some of the most breathtaking beaches in the whole of the UK.

As a born and bred Cornishman, our guide Lea Tippett loves nothing more than showing visitors these beautiful locations. Lea has carefully selected some of the very best photography spots in West Penwith and along the North Cornish coastline.

Locations you will visit:

Land’s End
Penberth Cove
Pedn Vounder
St Michaels Mount
+ Other key locations

The photography workshop is split into two days. On the first day, participants will focus on West Cornwall, where they will be based overnight and staying at a lovely local B&B. The chosen locations are relatively close to each other, allowing for visits to as many spots as possible. However, there will still be enough time at each place not only to capture photographs but also to take in the magnificent views.

In the evening of the first night, participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other better. They can discuss their day’s photography experiences and work on processing some of their image files. This part of the workshop is often considered the most beneficial, as it fosters camaraderie and shared learning among fellow photographers.

The second day will be spend exploring, taking photos and learning, ending at sundown where you may be able to capture the beautiful Cornish sunset.

Bring a camera, standard and/or wide-angle lenses, plus tripod. Filters will be used on workshop, so bring along any circular polarisers and ND graduated filters you may have. Make sure to bring a laptop and associated cables to connect your camera so that you can review and edit your photos.

Please bring outdoor clothing – waterproofs, fleeces, comfortable walking shoes, Wellington boots etc. The weather can be unpredictable so please be prepared. There may not be any facilities available during the photography sections of the workshop.

Lea Tippett is a proud son of Cornwall and his love of landscape photography was inspired by the county’s wild coastline and remote interior. Lea has been a SIGMA Ambassador since its inception and has assisted the company in leading a number of landscape master classes. He also offers successful landscape workshops in the South West as well as other parts of the United Kingdom and has been the leader on various photographic group events.
