We are excited to announce the inaugural LCE Photographer of the Year 2024 awards. This free-to-enter contest offers a £12,000 prize fund with 14 diverse categories, plus a People’s Choice section decided by a public vote. Open to photographers of all levels of experience it is an opportunity to showcase your skills, get recognised nationally and be in with a chance of winning big prizes! There are categories covering just about every genre of photography. From Landscape to Portraits, Macro to Street photography and much more. Each category provides an opportunity for you to showcase your talents from your own perspective. Explore our categories below to find some inspiration! Plus, we’re also harnessing the popular vote with our People’s Choice category where votes from your peers make all the difference.
Winners will receive a share of a £12,000 prize fund, which has generously been supported by a range of leading photo industry brands including headline sponsors Canon, Nikon and OM System, plus partners Fujifilm, Panasonic and Sony. Winners of each category will be presented with £500 in LCE vouchers, and the overall competition winner will receive £5,000 in LCE vouchers. The awards will be handed out at a special ceremony at The Photography & Video Show in March 2024 at the NEC, Birmingham. All shortlisted photographers will have their images featured in a special commemorative book and in an exhibition at the show.
Judges will include respected photographers and editors including Chris George, content director at Future Publishing, renowned street photographer Peter Dench, journalist and SheClicks founder Angela Nicholson, and Nick Richens, chief executive at London Camera Exchange.
The LCE competition is open to photographers, excluding professionals aged 18 and over.
