London Camera Exchange is thrilled to announce an exclusive Canon EOS R hands-on experience day for 15 lucky customers. This incredible event will take place at the Utilita Bowl, Southampton on Tues 17th September, where attendees will witness the excitement of the first-day County cricket match between Hampshire and Worcestershire. It’s a perfect setting to test and capture high-action sports photography with the latest Canon gear.


What to Expect-

On this special day, customers will get the unique opportunity to try out the latest Canon cameras and lenses. This also includes the opportunity to test drive the brand-new EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II cameras, along with other EOS R system bodies and an array of Canon lenses and accessories.

A minimum of one each of the EOS R1 and EOS R5 II will be available as working pre-production units, offering a sneak preview into the cutting-edge technology and features Canon has to offer.
(Images taken on these bodies will be deleted in-camera at the end of the session, with none to be retained on the day.)

A Canon A3 printer will be in action at the event with at least one or two complimentary prints on offer per customer of their favourite image/images taken on the day (A3 or A4 print size as available, commencing from 1pm approx). Excludes shots taken on the EOS R1 and EOS R5 II pre-production units.

Professional Guidance from Eddie Keogh-

The experience is elevated by the presence of professional sports photographer Eddie Keogh. Eddie will kick off the event with a presentation on his recent work with the England Football Team at the Euros in Germany. His expertise and insights into sports photography will be invaluable, providing attendees with practical tips and inspiration. Eddie will also conduct a localised walk-around of the ground, guiding customers through camera setups and settings to help them get the best out of their Canon equipment. Whether you’re looking to switch to Canon, upgrade your current kit, or simply eager to test the latest models, this day is tailored for you.

Eddie Keogh has been working as a professional sports photographer for 40 years and is very proud to be a Canon ambassador. He has been the England football team photographer via Getty Images for the last 7 years and in his time has covered almost every sport from Archery to Zinedine Zidane. Away from the elite sport arena he is shooting a personal project on grassroots football, the place where his passion for photography began.

Event Schedule:

•     9.45am - 10:00am: Arrival and Registration, Coffee and Refreshments

•     10:00am - 11:15am: Intro & Presentation by Eddie Keogh & Canon inc Q&A

•     11:15am - 12:30pm: First Shooting Session (Printing starts around 12.30pm)

•     12:30pm - 1:30pm: De-brief by Eddie Keogh followed by Lunch Break (match restarts at 1.10pm approx)

•     1:30pm - 3:10pm: Second Shooting Session (match restarts at 1:10pm and stops for tea at 3:10pm)

•     3:10pm - 4:00pm: Refreshments & then debrief with Eddie and the Canon & LCE teams (further chance for Printing)

•     4:00pm - 4:30pm: Return of Canon demo kit and final chance to purchase items from LCE

•     4:30pm: Event finish but the match to continue until 5:30pm approx, so option to remain in the stands with your own camera kit to take further pictures etc

After each shooting session, a debrief with Eddie will offer further insights.

Please note:

To ensure fair access to the EOS R1 and EOS R5 II through the day we will be asking customers to restrict the time spent on each model, to around 15-20 minutes per camera. This will give everyone a hands-on chance to explore what they are capable of.

Both the EOS R1 and EOS R5 II will remain located in the hospitality box and tripod mounted for the duration of the event, with various Canon L series telephoto lens options available for you to test with them.

Images taken on cameras other than the EOS R1 & R5 II can be retained for personal use (including social media posts etc), but not for commercial purposes.
